Teaching respect.

When it comes to teaching respect, a mistake is always made. We're always taught to respect others, and I don't have any complain to that. Because, respecting others is really importand and necessary. Everyone should respect others, there's no doubt about that.

However, there's always something missing. It is spent so much time teaching to respect other people, but we all forget that there's something important that everyone forgets too: self respect.

Out there, there's a lot of people who respect everyone around them... but themselves. There are many people who always respect people around them, but when it comes to themselves, they don't. Nobody taught them to respect themselves. For that reason, sometimes they forget to respect themselves. Truth be told, respecting one-self is as importand as respecting others. Sometimes, in life, certain things happen and they let us down, they make us hate ourselves, or just don't feel good with who we are. That is not a reason to lose respect in yourself. No reason is good enough to lose respect in yourself.

When you lose respect in yourself, it's when you start not to care about what happens to you. You cannot let that happen, okay? You can never let that happen. And if you've let that happen, try to stop it, because you do deserve to respect yourself. I can assure you that.

If nobody has ever taught you to respect yourself, I'm here to tell you that before you respect anyone else, you remember to respect yourself. You have to respect others, but you have to respect yourself too. Don't forget that.

Asking for help.

We're all human. We all have a breaking point. We have our ups and downs, as everyone else. We aren't unbreakable. We aren't invincible. No matter how strong we are or pretend to be... we all break sometimes.

And that's okay.

To fall down, to break and all that is completely okay. However, there's something about it that it's not okay. You know what it is? Our pride. Our damn pride that makes us hide it when we break down. We want to keep being that strong person the world thinks we are, so we hide it all. Even though it breaks us inside... that happens sometimes.

Other times, it's different what stops us from admitting we've broken down. Sometimes, it's the thought of ourselves as a burden, as a problem. The thought that what we feel is not bad enough to share it with someone, the thought of bothering people by sharing our pain is what mostly stops people from telling someone when they break down.

The truth about that is that... those thoughts aren't true. I mean, you feel them, yes, you do. But that's not true. If someone really cares about you, if you're important to them, they'd prefer you to share it with them instead of keeping it all to yourself, which doesn't solve anything and ends up making it all way worse.

Sometimes, you have to push your pride or whatever away, and admit it when you need help, and accept it. There are things you have to deal with by yourself, but... there's nothing wrong about accepting help. It's the best for you, and, believe me, people around you would rather you to share your feelings with them if you need it.

Truth is, there are more people who care about you than you can even imagine.

Here you are...

I was just thinking, and since I'm writing this at night (at least where I live), I thought that there's a huge possibility that, you, the one reading this, might be feeling down and lonely tonight, so I remembered that I wrote something, very short, but, at least something a long ago, that might at least draw a face in someone's face... well,  I hope so.

Just thought I should put this here, in case anyone is in need of this tonight...

Without...

Without having cried, would it feel good to smile?
Without having been broken, would it feel good to be fixed?
Without having felt worthless, would it feel good to feel worth it?
Without having felt alone, would it feel good to feel accompanied?
Without having felt unloved, would it feel good to feel loved?
Without having felt hopeless, would it feel good to feel hopeful?
Without having felt dead, would it feel good to feel alive?
Would you really appreciate the good things about life, if there weren't bad ones?
Sometimes, what's bad isn't that bad at all.
