The sunrise.

Sometimes, we go through a really long night, which is so long that we end up believing that the sunrise will never come. In life, there are many moments like those, when it's all so dark for too long and we end up believing that light will never come back - that it all will stay dark forever.

However, that isn't true. The sunrise always comes after the darkness, but sometimes it takes a while to appear, you just have to keep fighting until you see it, because in the moment you see it you'll realize you made it to see another day. You made it.

Fighters.

There are many kinds of fighters. I'm not going to stop and mention every kind of fighter that you'll be able to find, because that's not the purpose of this post.

There's something that all fighters have in common. There's something that could be used for a "clasification" of fighters in which all kind of fighters fit in. Do you know what I'm talking about? Think through about it, think deeply. What is that that all fighters have in common?

All fighters fall down; they've fallen down a lot of times before, and they'll fall down plenty of times more. All fighters stumble down, want to give up sometimes, break, feel worthless... those adjectives kind of describe way too many people (if not everyone), so, what differences some people between one another  so some of them are fighters and others aren't?
Even though I honestly believe that every single person is a fighter in their own way, it'd be good to keep clear what a fighter is.

The thing about fighters is that they get back up again, they keep up the fight even though it feels like it's impossible to win the fight. They don't give up even though some times they really want to. They continue fighting even though it looks like the fight isn't worth fighting anymore.

You're already a fighter, because you're here. Do you want to continue being one? Do you want to keep fighting no matter how hard it gets? The harder the run is, the better the prize will be. It's your choice - but any choice that means keeping up the fight and not giving up is the right one.

Ends... beginnings.

Things end, and we cannot do anything to help that. I don't like endings - like most of people, we don't like them, right?

Sometimes it's very sad when somethings comes to an end.

With life, a lot of times something like that happens. We believe that it's the end, like everything has come to its end. We feel lost, abandoned, hopeless... we feel like there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Have you ever felt like that?

In those moments, we have a misconception of the "moment", maybe it's that our feelings of hopelessness invade us and we feel like there's no escape - it's the end.

Well, it's not. Actually, in those moments, there's a new beginning. There's a new beginning waiting, waiting to come. You have to wait until it comes, without speeding up. Sometimes, it takes longer; other times, shorter. However, you cannot forget that the new beginning will come - and you have to be there to see it.

Progress.

Nowadays, there's a "trend" of being better than the fellow. We want to have a better car, a better house, a better mobile phone... better achievements than the other person, whoever they are and whatever they're our achievements.

I'm going to start to explain this with a little example. Imagine you got a 90% in you Science test, and other classmate of yours got a 95%. Instead of being proud of yourself for having such a high mark, you're not going to realize that and you won't be proud of your own achievement because you're comparing yourself with the other person. And you won't be satisfied until you get a better mark than your classmate. However, when you reach that mark, you won't try to get a better one, because you've got what you wanted - being better than your fellow.

What I want to communicate you with this example is that, to me, comparing yourself to others isn't the best or right thing to do.

Comparing yourself to others will only fill you with hatred, envy and arrogance. As soon as you're better than a certain person you've decided to be better than - if you ever reach that goal, of course.

When it comes to progress, there's something else I do for myself, and I recommend you to try it because with me it has worked. Even though sometimes it's necessary to compare yourself to others in some ways so you can learn more things, and it's even more necessary to pay to other people's attention and critics (if they're constructive), there's something else which is better.

What I do instead is comparing me with myself. I compare my previous achievements and according to that I build my goal, what I want to reach. I only propose myself to get what I'm capable of getting.

I think that it's the best way of improving, because you see how much you've improved and you're realistic. You work harder and harder and you'll see real progress. I really believe that that's what progress is all about. It's about becoming a better person and improving - taking steps forward and move forward.

What we can stand.

We can stand so much, sometimes, we even stand more than we thought we could. Why? Maybe we think it's fair to stand it. Maybe we think that's what we're supposed to do. Maybe we think that it's not a big deal, that we're just overreacting. Maybe we just think that if we stand so much, when it comes to us, other person will stand so much. Maybe we just think we could do better, we could be better. You want the truth?

The truth is that, it's okay to stand some things. But, there has to be a moment when you realize you've had enough, that it's been enough and say: "enough". Are you going to let someone use you? Are you going to let them take you for granted? Are you going to let them say who you should be? Are you going to let them tell you what you're supposed to be?

Don't give me to wrong, it's important to listen to other people's advice and all that stuff. However, there's a difference between listening to someone's advice and letting someone control your life. It's your life to make it how you want it to be, it's your future, it's you. Are you going to give someone so much importance that they can control you?

The problem about standing so much is that it comes to a point when you think everything's okay, so you don't realize when you're being controlled by someone else. You don't realize when it's time to say enough. You don't realize when it's time to stop standing and let go.

Never forget your value, never let yourself tell you you're not good enough, and more important than that, never let someone control you.

You have to think of yourself first, then you can think of the world.

Pride Month

This post goes to the LGBT+ community. Since June is Pride Month, I felt like writing a post about it.

The LGBT+ community has been receiving a lot of hate from many people worldwide since it even existed, and it continues that way. Homosexual, bisexual, transgender... people have always received hate from other people who've considered being different from them is wrong. That's what I want to talk about, but this won't be a sermon for homophobic, transphobic, biphobic... people. That's not what this post is supposed to be - so it won't  be like that.

What I want to tell you is to embrace who you are no matter what. Some people say it's exaggerated to embrace in a public way if you're different, but the thing is that if you get hate for who you are, the way to fight back is embracing who you are and showing you're proud of who you are.

Some people find it hard to accept who they truly are, whether they have a different sexual orientation than they're supposed to, or a different gender identity, or whatever makes you different than most of the people. I want to tell you that different doesn't mean wrong. I want to tell you that you deserve to be yourself without fear. It hurts to hide who you truly are or who you truly love, and that's not fair for you - whatever is holding you back from being yourself is what's wrong.

You're heterosexual? Cool. You're homosexual? Cool. You're bisexual? Cool. You're pansexual? Cool. You're cisgender? Cool. You're transgender? Cool. You're gender fluid? Cool. None of that defines you as a person.

It's said that there's barely LGBT+ phobia nowadays, but I know that isn't true. If that was true, there wouldn't be "closets". There wouldn't be people hiding themselves - everyone would feel safe to share their sexual orientation or gender identity, but that doesn't happen.

People who judge you because of that are the people  you don't deserve having in your life. You deserve better people who accept you as you are, that's true. Nevertheless, I want to tell you that the most important thing is that you accept yourself as you are.

I know what it's like not to accept who you truly are because of fear, because you don't want to be different, you don't want to be hated. I can assure you I know what it's like. However, I can also tell you that once you accept yourself, everything becomes a little better. Your own acceptance is what you need the most.

Diversity and discrimination.

You'll never find two human beings who are completely the same. Never, no matter how hard you try, you won't. I can assure you that.

There's diversity among us, we all are different somehow. Whether it's the color of our skin, our nationality, our preferences, our sexuality, our gender identity, our surroundings, our appearence... we are different from each other. And it's okay. As long as you're not causing damage to others by that, there's nothing wrong with it.

The problem is that we tend not to respect that diverstity, we tend to think of diverstity as something which is wrong. Even though we say we don't think that or that we don't care about diversity, are you sure it is respected? I don't think so.

I'll give you an example. Let's imagine a 10th grade classroom, with about 30 students. They're different from each other, but they act in a similar way, most of them. Nevertheless, let's suppose that there are like three students who are "different" or that's what they classmates do. One of those three students has a different sexuality than most of their classmates, openly. Other one is from another country, and the reaction of his/her classmates is the same as with the other kid. The third one doesn't like the same things as his/her classmates, has different hobbies, mentality and dresses differently.

The reaction of their classmates towards them is the same: the three teens are being teased, being made fun of, being left out... being bullied. Just because they're not like them. The three teens aren't causing any damage to the rest, but they're different. And that's what always happens, every day, everywhere.

Is it right? No. People say that we've become more advanced, and we have, but not enough. There is still a lot of discrimination to many people, and it's unfair - this must change.

Wouldn't you like to feel free to be yourself in public without hiding who you truly are? Wouldn't that be better for each one of us? What do you prefer: stopping hate and becoming acceptive, or living divided and hidden?

It's owned by us, only we can change that.
